| Resolving PC or Laptop Slowness?

Description:

This article includes the steps for tracking and resolving the slowness issues that you may face while using your PC or Laptop.

Notes:

This article for the users or administrator who gives support to the concerned users.

What you need to do?

You need first to check the cause of the issue, by checking below possible reasons:

  1. Check your CPU usage: Open your task manager and look at the CPU usage. If it's constantly high, that could be the cause of your PC's slowness. Identify which processes are using the most CPU and see if you can close any unnecessary applications.
  2. Check your RAM usage: Similar to checking CPU usage, you can also check your RAM usage. If you're running low on memory, that could be the cause of the slowness. Close any unnecessary applications or consider adding more RAM to your PC.
  3. Check for malware: Malware and viruses can slow down your PC. Run a malware scan using your antivirus software or a reputable malware removal tool.
  4. Check your hard drive: A fragmented or full hard drive can slow down your PC. Run a disk cleanup or defragmentation tool to free up space and optimize your hard drive.
  5. Update your drivers: Outdated drivers can cause performance issues. Check if any of your drivers need updating, especially your graphics card driver.
  6. Disable unnecessary startup programs: Some programs may automatically start when you turn on your PC, which can slow down the boot process. Disable any unnecessary startup programs to improve boot time.
  7. Check for overheating: Overheating can also cause your PC to slow down. Make sure your PC is well-ventilated and free of dust.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of your PC's slowness and take appropriate action to fix the problem.
